Four 'contemporary' homes are being proposed on a field east of Fairways, East Cliff, West Bay.

The site has been the subject of previous applications for four or five homes, the larger of the applications refused in 2019.

An 'in principal' application for four homes on the site has approval with this latest application seeking consent for the details of the scheme – for four detached houses, rather than for two detached and two semi-detached, which were previously agreed at the outline stage.

The new application says that the homes will have a more contemporary feel with large glazed dormers, some of which will have sea views.

The design shows each home having its own access and parking from the road with each property cut into the slope of the hill.

Other Bridport area applications submitted to Dorset Council include:

Land south of Langdon Green, Marrowbone Lane, Bothenhampton, new home with access;

9 De Legh Grove, Bridport, single storey extension and insert ground floor side window;

74A North Allington, Bridport, demolition of a summer shed, tool shed and lead-to and erect new summer shed (retrospective);

4A North Street, Beaminster, change of use of redundant commercial building to home;

87 Jessop Avenue, erect fence to enclose garden;

Court House, Nallers Lane, Askerswell, single storey extension, attic conversion and formation of pantry;

Digory, Old Lyme Hill, Charmouth, part single and part double storey extension, replacement of tiled roof;

The Rookery, Church Street, Burton Bradstock, raising of an existing hay loft and new balcony, additional garden gates, renovation of an existing flat in the Coach House;

Unit 5, Broadwindsor Road industrial estate, Beaminster, extension to building.
