There has been a great response to the Rotary Club of Bridport's appeal for laptops and tablets for local schools.

The community has responded with a number of items and generous donations of money.

The Minerva Learning Trust Schools - the Sir John Colfox Academy, Bridport Primary School, Burton Bradstock Primary School and St Mary's Primary School - now say they have enough laptops for their pupils, but are in desperate need of portable USB visualisers for teachers to interact online with their pupils.

Visualisers are small mounted cameras that will allow teachers to demonstrate and share resources with students. This can either be in the classroom or when remote learning.

The Rotary club has added to the donations and handed over the sum of £2,500 to enable the schools to buy 50 visualisers.

They can help:

• Model the process of writing and demonstrating the thought process

• Demonstrate a technique

• Share examples of student work with the class

• Live marking of work

• Integrating text and drawing key points

• Modelling a maths equation
