Pre-packed bags of store cupboard items and other essentials can be purchased in store are donated to the local foodbank, operating from St Mary's Church in Bridport on Wednesday morning, and from Bridport Youth Centre on Monday evenings.

Morrisons and volunteers from the foodbank recently set up an information stall and were on hand to explain the scheme to customers, who can earn additional points on their Morrisons cards for supporting the initiative.

They were visited by the Mayor of Bridport, Cllr Dave Bolwell, as well as children from, St Mary's Primary School who were enjoying a trip to the supermarket.

The mayor joined the pupils on a tour of the store, and the children were also able to get hands on helping to make pizzas and doughnuts in the shop's bakery section, and scanning the foodbank shopping bags.

Cllr Bolwell commented: "Well done to Morrisons for their community support and the time and money invested in helping the foodbank to continue their excellent work."
