Officers investigating a fail-to-stop crash in Bridport are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

At around 5.25pm on Tuesday, June 22, a car and cyclist crashed in West Street, between the mini roundabout outside the White Lion pub and the Tannery Road roundabout. The car is believed to be a burgundy Citroen Berlingo and it is reported that the driver failed to stop at the scene.

The cyclist was knocked off his bicycle and sustained heavy bruising to his arms.

Police Constable Paul Miners, of West Dorset police, said: "We are continuing to make enquiries to try and identify the vehicle involved in this collision and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened to please contact us.

"I would also like to appeal for anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage to please get in touch."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email [email protected] or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55210100264. Alternatively, to stay 100 per cent anonymous, contact the independent charity Crimestoppers online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or call freephone 0800 555 111.
