Residents are being urged to 'shop online and shop local' this Christmas.

One local company is working hard to make sure that shopping online doesn't have to mean 'using the huge multinationals this Christmas'.

Many more people will be shopping online this year, but it's important not to forget the little businesses which have been so useful, keeping us supplied during lockdown.

Bridport residents can find unique, lovingly made gifts and food from local producers by using the Jurassic Coast Card website. They can shop online with local companies offering a huge range, including jewellery, skincare, homewares, food and drink, and art, all produced by companies based on the Jurassic Coast, with a discount for members.

Amy Ralph, founder of Jurassic Coast Card, said: "We've all really had it brought home to us this year just how important our local businesses are; we would have been stuck without local suppliers and I think it's important to keep supporting them.

"When I started the Jurassic Coast Card, I had no idea this pandemic was coming, but our core values of supporting small businesses to keep a vibrant and viable local economy have never been more important. In many cases, it's 'use it or lose it'."

Annual passes are half price until the end of November, costing £12 for 12 months.

There are a number of local businesses and makers to choose from, including Aleksandra's Chocolate Café, Cherries Ice Cream Parlour, The Station Kitchen, West Bay Canoes, Martin's Bar at Highland's End, Wrixton Smyth Creations, Boarsbarrow Gifts and Crafts, Baboo Gelato, Cherry Picked Hampers, Lyme Rib Rides, Aroma, Rockburn and more.
