You can't miss the shocking and emotional footage on the news coming out of Ukraine.

Wanting to do their bit to raise funds to help those fleeing the conflict, the team at The Hive Beach Café in Burton Bradstock has started the lemon challenge – and old favourite used in the past to raise lots of money for charity.

It entails a bucket of water, a lemon, a pound coin - and a steady hand!

The rules are simple, once you've filled a bucket with water:

  1. Balance a £1 coin on the lemon for 20 seconds
  2. If you succeed you win a whole meal at The Hive / The Watch House for free
  3. Take the challenge!

The challenge is underway at The Hive Beach Café and its sister café The Watch House at West Bay, and will be for the foreseeable future. All the money raised is going to ShelterBox, and provides shelter and other essential items to help people protect themselves, and stay connected.

The Hive Team are also aksing other businesses to take up the lemon challenge and will supply any business in the DT6 postcode with a bucket, lemon and a poster! You only have to supply the water and plenty of enthusiasm!

If you're a business and would like a lemon challenge kit to run your own challenge – you're more than welcome to give the team a call on 01308 898619 or email [email protected] and they will equip you to start raising funds while having a bit of fun at the same time!

So come on, let's do our bit to help.
