Bridport Fire Station is recruiting and looking for on-call firefighters to join.

The team is looking to expand with people who are available to respond when the call comes in during weekdays.

A spokesman for Bridport Fire Station said: "If you need more for 2022, then the fire and rescue service might be able to help you.

"We are specifically looking for people who are available between the hours of 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday and are available for weekly training on a Monday night, 7pm to 9.30pm.

"If you work in Bridport during the day and are able to respond to the fire station within approximately five minutes, why not consider the chance to work as a paid on-call firefighter alongside your primary employment role."

On-call firefighters are paid professionals who do the same work as their wholetime colleagues. However, they are not based at the fire station and have other jobs and commitments, responding to emergencies only when their alerter goes off.
