Making sure nothing goes to waste, a Bridport café has donated food to food banks and meal kitchens.

After closing ahead of the lockdown, The Watch House Café in West Bay made sure its left over stock that couldn't be saved or used didn't go in the bin.

A spokesman for The Watch House Café said: "We have a connection with a local chef in Lyme Regis that is linked with the free school meals push over half term, so we worked with them to help out where we can with families.

"We donated left over milk, cheese, salads, vegetables, pumpkins and butters, things we felt couldn't keep.

"Over lockdown we won't be open as yet due to the road closures [West Bay Road is currently closed until December 24] but if the situation changes in a month we would consider it.

"We are keeping the online shop going and hopefully we will be able to keep people's Christmas gifts going out.

"We tell all customers to stay posted to our social media accounts."
