A squad of 25 Bridport swimmers came home with a massive haul of 32 medals and 42 personal best times, from the Dorset County Development Competition in Bournemouth.

Holly Symes and Daniel Hussey both had a very successful weekend with Holly earning herself six gold medals and two silver medals, and Daniel winning two golds, three silvers and three bronzes.

The winning streak didn't stop there – Theo Mccarthy won two bronze medals, Helena Ashby four silvers, Alyssa Schep a silver and two bronzes, Rohan Vercoe a gold and a bronze, Iona Cook a gold, Ruby Manning two golds, Sam Westcott a silver, and Eva Cox a bronze.

Two Bridport Barracudas club records were also broken over the weekend, by Daniel Hussey and Iona Cook in the 200m Individual Medley and 200m breaststroke.

The number of personal best times swam was astonishing but special mention goes to Efi Fraser who knocked more than 14 per cent off of her 50m breaststroke personal best time.

Bridport Barracudas' head coach, Sophie Dawe, said: "Our swimmers once again swam themselves proud competing in this Dorset-wide competition and their achievements really show how their hard work at training and determination is paying off.

"We are nearing the end of a busy swim season and I was really happy with their results and personal best times. I'm really proud of every single one of them."

Bridport Barracudas welcome new swimmers of all abilities and ages, for more information email [email protected] or visit the website www.swimbarracudas.co.uk
