Tickets on sale now for Bridport Literary Festival

Tickets for Bridport Literary Festival events are now on sale.

Festival director Tanya Bruce-Lockhart and her team have created an electric programme to suit all tastes.

Nature, travel, politics, journalism, art, music, thrillers, history, cookery, gardening, memoir, contemporary fiction and biography are all part of the mix for the year's festival, which takes place from November 7 to 13.

Speakers include Jonathan Coe, Lisa Jewell, Colin Thubron, Peter Hain, Polly Toynbee, Christina Lamb, Dr Hilary Jones, Max Porter, Alan Johnson, Emma Soames and Marina Wheeler.

Meanwhile, three events have been lined up for a special day of literary talks at Bridport Arts Centre on September 20.

Lachlan Goudie tells 'The Story of Scottish Art' at 11am, Tom Fort will be talking at 2.30pm about his book, 'Casting Shadows', the history of freshwater fishing in Britain, and at 4.30pm, Andre Ziminski on 'The Stonemason: a History of Building Britain'.

Tickets for each of these talks are £12 or £30 for all three and can be obtained at Bridport TIC.
