New Year's Day is a great time for a winter walk, taking in your local area and discovering areas you may not have seen before.

The Bridport Green Route is a three-mile walk around the heart of the town, connecting residential areas to local green spaces, and takes around one to two hours to complete.

The route builds on a previous round Bridport heritage trail developed in the 1990s and has been revised, improving accessibility and green space connections.

The walk takes in Coneygar Hill, Asker Meadows and riverbanks as well as some of the old railway line and the site of the Old Priory in East Street.

There is also a sculpture trail that coincides with some of the walk, with six to be found. One of which is in the Borough Gardens, a short detour from the walk. Find out more about it here
