Tickets are now on sale for a special day of Bridport Literary Festival events at the arts centre next month.
Author and presenter Tom Fort is one of the three speakers taking part in the day, which is being held in the run up to the festival itself in November.
Tom wrote 'The A303: Highway to the Sun'. When the book was turned into a BBC 4 programme, Fort presented it from the wheel of a Morris Traveller. He drove along the 92-mile route from Basingstoke to Honiton, visiting ancient and modern treasures en-route.
Since it was first broadcast in 2011, it has been repeated many times.
He'll be talking about his new book, 'Casting Shadows' at Bridport Arts Centre on Monday, September 20 at 2.30pm.
Casting Shadows is the history of freshwater fishing since time began, initially discovered as a bountiful source of sustenance.
Mark Cocker, reviewing the book for the New Statesman, said: "Fort is alive to the poetry that stirs the human soul while fishing and is very good at evoking the beauty of the riverbank, particularly the effects of light on water."
Tom Fort explores the secret, silent world of the freshwater fish found in Britain and the art and industry of fishing that spans thousands of years.
He also assesses the dangers facing many species and water environments with an appeal to protect the underwater world from industrial fishing and farming.
The event is one of three illustrated talks in one day at the arts centre, along with Lachlan Goudie and 'The Story of Scottish Art' at 11am and Andrew Ziminski and 'The Stonemason: A History of Building Britain' at 4.30pm.
The Story of Scottish Art journeys through 5,000 years of Scottish art. Since the Neolithic era, creativity has played a vital role in shaping the course of Scotland's history. Artist Goudie's tale is on of radicals and visionaries, artists with an international mind-set and a bold sense of their heritage who resolved to create work on the frontline of western art and culture.
The Stonemason is a story about the building of Britain and is part archaeological history and yet a deeply personal insight into an ancient craft. In his 35-year career, Andrew Ziminski has worked on many of the country's greatest monuments. From Neolithic monoliths to Roman baths and temples, from the tower of Salisbury Cathedral to the engine houses, mills and aqueducts of the industrial revolution up to the present day.
You can see a video about Andrew in a film specially made for last year's festival at the top of this page.
Tickets cost £12 or £30 for all three events and are available from Bridport Tourist Information Centre on 01308 424901.
Tickets for Bridport Literary Festival, which runs from November 7 to 13, go on sale on Monday, August 30.
