There's still time for Bridport's local, independent businesses to sign up to Fiver Fest this October.

More than 20 businesses will be taking part from October 9, offering two weeks of special £5 offers to shoppers.

And even more are encouraged to sign up, with those that d before September 30 being included in the Fiver Fest booklet.

Totally Locally Bridport co-founder, Antonia Squire of The Book Shop on South Street, considers each Fiver Fest a celebration of independent businesses, but for her, this one will be a great opportunity to give back to the community that has been so supportive of her and her business over the past 18 months.

She said: "Any town that boasts a significant number of independently owned and operated shops and businesses has in their midst a group of passionate experts who love what they do and want to share that passion with others.

"Fiver Fest is a great way for people in the community to dip their toes into the very different experience of shopping with locals, taking the time to explore, chat and see how 'shopping local' can work for them."

Created by Totally Locally, the Fiver Fest encouraged people to think about how they spend their cash with a simple message: 'if everyone in Bridport and the surrounding villages spent £5 a week with a local business instead of online or in a big supermarket, we could add an extra £2.6million to Bridport's local economy'.

All local, independent businesses are eligible to take part this October. To sign up, email [email protected]
