A group of artists from around Dorset will be gathering at Eype Centre for the Arts this week to show their work and meet the public.

Run as a regular annual exhibition, Art@Eype is organised by three Bridport-based artists, who invite colleagues from across the county to join them each year in filling the beautiful church venue with a wide range of art.

The trio consists of David Brooke, who paints mythical-style themes, Elizabeth Sporne, a portrait artist, and event founder Sally Davies, who crosses genres with creative photography and abstract paintings, often mixing the two.

This year, artists joining them include Shaftsbury-based abstract/mixed-media artist Andrea Jenkins and expressive painter Moira Hazel from Dorchester, plus two very different sculptors - Purbeck-based Andrew Thomas, and Bridport's own Russ Snedker.

The three-day event is free to enter and there is also free on-site parking for exhibition visitors. However, it's only a mile or two from Bridport town centre or West Bay, a great opportunity to put on your walking shoes, put a lead on your dog - they're welcome too - and make your way to Eype to enjoy some art, chat to the creators and even have some of the tea, coffee and cake on offer.

Art@Eype takes place on Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16 from 10am to 5pm and Sunday, July 17 from 10am to 4pm at Eype Centre for the Arts, St Peter's Church, Eype.
