Bridport Carnival from days gone by – but can you name the year?

Bridport Carnival was recently given a number of photos of a carnival procession from days gone by – but can you name the year?

One of the photos has the year 1984 written on it, but another reads "Are we ready for the Common Market?" which the UK joined in 1973.

Can you name the year, or maybe you recognise someone in the photos?
