A brand-new Mexican takeaway pop-up is coming to Bridport.

Tortilla Cantina, launched by Stephen Edwardes and Rhiannon Baker, will be providing quesadilla, ribs, carnitas, enchiladas, burrito and more to residents, with the first pop-up next Thursday (November 26) from 5pm to 9pm.

Stephen said: "We started during lockdown and worked through some recipes but went back to our jobs as we both work in hospitality.

"We have a trailer being built at the moment so will be working as a pop-up."

They will be operating from The Ropemakers. People must pre-order and they are given a slot to come and collect their food.

"We are hoping to get the trailer at the beginning of December," added Stephen.

"It is fresh, simple Mexican and we want to get our food out there, doing pop-ups and moving on to events."

Stephen said they have had a 'really fantastic response' to the venture so far.

"We are both quite new to social media, so we have had a crash course, and our first post reached 7 to 8,000 people and we've had pre-orders already - we've been blown away," Stephen said.

"It's good community spirit, people coming out to support us."
